It's time for an adventure. I feel stagnate. This summer can't come soon enough. I am seriously going to start one of those paper chains you make as a child... where you have a link for each day and tear them off as the time wears down. In a few short weeks I am taking the leap and will be living off my art and photography fulltime. It's an excitement / terror / hope / doubt / fear / adrenaline / bliss rush. I am going to be on the road for a few weeks this summer. Tony and I are driving out to Colorado for his brother's wedding... going to take our time and weave through Yellowstone and Glacier... and stop by the
DENY Designs office in Denver. DENY is the company that produces my home products.
It's exciting to see my designs on such an array of products. I remember years ago looking for bedding for my dorm room being so dismayed at the truly hideous options most companies put out there. I found DENY and felt like I was in home decor heaven. It's fun looking back before all this art-craziness started and now I am designing for some of the same companies I admired years ago.
Anyways... this summer I will also be driving up through California with my friend,
Tara. Because our lives are cursed I am assuming some crazy calamity will strike us on our way - but that won't stop me! We are going to be exploring San Francisco, Yosemite, the Redwoods... picture heaven. I already purchased a new harddrive for this picture extravaganza. I've been reading really good reviews about
LaCie's Rugged Drives... I decided with all of my traveling I needed an external that could take some abuse.

I also just got not one, but TWO
Kelly Moore Bags in the mail! If you do not know what a Kelly Moore Bag is... let me tell you. These bags are the genius marriage of style and functionality for photographers. I will post photos and give you a quick review in my next post - but I am in love. I am also a person that HATES to carry around a purse. My ID, debit card, etc are usually stashed in a jacket pocket or Tony's wallet and I forget where they are half the time. I am so used to NOT carrying a bag... that last week I left my old camera bag behind with $$$ of equipment at
Cascade Brewing Barrel House. Luckily my lovely waitress had it behind the counter and quipped, "I bet when you realized you left it you were like, FUUUUUUCCCCCKKKK!" She assumed correctly.

<SIDE NOTE> Cascade's
Oblique Black & White Coffee Stout is amazing. I tried to send it back when I first got it because of its amber color (even lighter than picture) - I was expecting some tar-like substance like the stouts and porters I typically order, but no... this was a super light stout and it was delicious.
Anyways, now with my everyday Moore purse, I am hoping to remedy this forgetfulness and also have my camera on hand every day. There have been so many missed opportunities for killer pictures due to not having my camera by my side.
I am ready to spend every day taking pictures, exploring, meeting new people, and basically just live it up.
Also note - if you are in the Portland, Oregon area - it's time for Spring Mini Sessions! Get your engagement, family, maternity, happy occasion of your choosing photos :)
